Color shows the estimated liquidation clusters by price, and dots show liquidations that actually happened.
Updated 16:14 UTCNow · densest cell of the largest zone
Assumptions: positions opened in the last 48 hours · leverage 5·10·25·50·100x in equal shares · newly opened positions split equally long and short · reference position 10,000 USDT (first maintenance-margin tier)
Map price range: -5.1% to +4.8% from the current price. Liquidation prices outside it (farther away the lower the leverage) are not counted in the map, tables or bars.
Actual liquidations (OKX, this period): long $6.9M · short $4.6M · largest single: Long $799K
Point at the map to see that cell under “Selected cell”, and click to pin it. Pointing near an actual liquidation dot snaps to that dot’s cell. With a keyboard, select the map, then use the arrow keys to move one cell (Shift for bigger steps), Page Up/Down to jump between clustered zones, ] and [ for the next and previous actual liquidation, and Esc to clear.Tap the map to pin that cell under “Selected cell” (tapping near an actual liquidation dot picks that dot’s cell), and slide sideways to move through time. Swiping up or down scrolls the page and keeps the pinned cell.

Method: exchanges do not publish individual liquidation prices. We treat each rise in Binance · OKX open interest as new positions opened at that time's price and compute their liquidation prices with the assumptions above (5·10·25·50·100x). When open interest falls, remaining volume shrinks proportionally, and levels that price has touched are removed. Only positions opened since a lookback as long as the displayed period are counted. Dots are liquidations that actually happened on OKX, so they cover one exchange rather than the whole market. Circles are long and diamonds are short positions; each dot combines the liquidations in one cell and direction, and its area is proportional to that total (very small liquidations get a minimum size). OKX publishes only about the last day, so older dots are the ones Coperral has recorded since it started collecting. The closer a color is to the right end of the legend, the larger the estimated size; the top 1% share that color. Recalculated about every 10 minutes.
A map that colors, over time, the price levels where futures positions are estimated to be forcibly liquidated. Time runs left to right and price bottom to top. The closer a band's color is to the right end of the legend, the more positions are estimated to be liquidated if price reaches it.
Bands below the current price are long liquidation zones, and bands above it are short liquidation zones. When price touches a band, that amount is treated as liquidated and removed from the map. On wider screens, the bars on the right total the estimated volume remaining by price. The map shows where liquidation volume is stacked; it does not tell you which way price will move.
Exchanges do not publish each customer's liquidation price, so every liquidation heatmap is an estimate. Coperral computes liquidation levels from when and at what price open interest rose, plus the leverage assumption written on this page, and shows that assumption instead of hiding it.
The two views count positions over different periods. The 24-hour view estimates the volume remaining now from positions opened in the last 48 hours, and the 7-day view from positions opened in the last 14 days. Counting older positions adds their volume and keeps zones far from the current price, so the largest zone can differ. The 7-day view also covers a wider price range, so it counts liquidation prices farther from the current price. Neither view is the right one; they count different ranges.
Liquidations that actually happened on OKX. Circles are long and diamonds are short liquidations (colors tell them apart too), and each dot's area is proportional to the total liquidated in that cell. A cell with a dot often shows an estimate of 0: the price passed through that level and the estimated volume there was erased. To compare with the estimate, look at the band just left of the dot.
