Gate Guide

A step-by-step guide from signup to Coperral linking.

  1. Start with a new account

    1 / 4

Payback activates only when you sign up with the Coperral code. Follow the steps below.

    1. 1
Tap 'Sign up' on the Coperral Gate page. The referral code is applied automatically.
    2. 2
Create an account with your email or phone number.
    3. 3
      Set a password and two-factor authentication (2FA).
    4. 4
After signing up, check that the Coperral code appears in your referral details.
Enter via the Coperral link at signup and create your account (email + password, with a separate fund password for withdrawals). Korean users can sign up and use Gate, with Korean language support. You can browse right after signup, but actual deposits, withdrawals, and trading require KYC (see the KYC note below). Direct Korean won trading is not supported; you deposit by sending coins from a Korean exchange.
  2. Complete KYC

    2 / 4

Whether KYC is required, and the limits, vary by exchange. Check the steps and the exchange-specific note below.

    1. 1
Prepare a government ID (passport or driver's license).
    2. 2
In the Gate app/web, go to Account > Verification (KYC).
    3. 3
Follow the prompts to capture and submit your ID and a facial verification.
    4. 4
Approval usually takes anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours.
Yes, effectively required. Deposits, withdrawals, and normal trading require KYC. It is tiered: KYC-1 (personal info + ID/ID number) gives a ~20,000 USDT 24-hour withdrawal limit; KYC-2 (selfie + proof of address within 3 months: utility bill/bank statement/card statement) raises it to ~80,000 USDT and enables P2P and fiat deposits/withdrawals. Koreans can choose among a resident registration card, driver's license, or passport. Deposits of 1M KRW or more trigger the Travel Rule, so the English name/date of birth at your Korean exchange must match your Gate KYC info. (Limits may vary by policy/region; check the official guidance at signup.)
  3. Check and link your UID

    3 / 4

Register your exchange UID with Coperral to start earning payback.

    • App: Log in to the Gate app and tap the profile avatar at the top left; the number at the top of the profile screen is your UID (e.g., 1234567). Long-press the number to copy it.
    • Web: Log in to gate.com/gate.io and click the avatar icon at the top right; your UID appears on the first line of 'Personal Information Overview.' You can also check it at the top right of My Account (www.gate.com/myaccount).
    • The UID is your unique member identifier, used for payback linking and support inquiries. Menu names/positions may vary by app/web version.
Found your UID? One last step: register it under My account on Coperral, and payback starts accruing once verification completes.Link UID
  4. Check if your existing account qualifies

    4 / 4

Most exchanges do not allow changing the referrer on an existing account. The exceptions and alternatives are laid out below.

    • Bottom line: you cannot change an existing account's referrer to the Coperral code. Gate accepts a referral code only at signup and does not allow retroactive application or changes on an already-created account (official policy).
    • To receive payback, create a new account with a new email and enter via the Coperral referral link/code at signup. Only one referral code applies per account, and no reward is paid if applied in duplicate.
    • When depositing to the new account: transfers of 1M KRW or more from Korean exchanges (Upbit=VerifyVASP, Bithumb/Coinone/Korbit=CODE) trigger the Travel Rule, and the English name and date of birth registered at your Korean exchange must exactly match your Gate KYC info. Set your KYC English name to match your Korean exchange when creating the account.
    • For special circumstances, contact Gate support - though retroactive changes are not allowed as a matter of policy.
If you switch by creating a new account, moving assets via a Korean exchange may involve extra steps under the Travel Rule, such as identity verification.
Sign up again with the Coperral code, then complete KYC with the ID document you already hold.

This guide is based on each exchange's official help center and public materials, but exchange app/web UIs and policies change frequently. If menu names or locations differ, follow the exchange's customer support or the latest in-app screens.

Frequently asked about Gate signup

How do I sign up for Gate, step by step?

Open Gate from the link on this page so the Coperral code is applied, create the account with your email or phone number, finish KYC verification, then return to your Coperral dashboard and link your UID. The steps above show what each screen asks for.

How do I log in to Gate?

Log in on Gate's own site or app with the email or phone number you registered. Coperral never asks for your exchange password or login details, and account recovery is handled by Gate support rather than by us.

Does Gate have a mobile app?

Signup and UID linking work the same on mobile and on the web. Download the app only from Gate's official site or your device's app store, because fake exchange apps do circulate.

Is there a Gate signup bonus or invitation code?

Promotions are set by the exchange and change often, so we do not promise a bonus here. What Coperral provides is separate and ongoing: once your UID is linked, part of the trading fees you pay comes back to you in USDT. Enter the Coperral code in the referral field during signup.
